Pinup pageants debut at Greazefest, Brisbane

The first annual  Miss Tiki Wahine and Miss Hot Rod Belle  pinup pageants After many years of successful pinup fashion parades at Greazefest Kustom Kulture Festival , 2018 saw the festival embrace what the community were asking for in the Australian Pinup Pageant Directory , pinup pageants! From this the first annual pinup pageants were born - 'Miss Tiki Wahine' and 'Miss Hot Rod Belle', plus the hosting debut of Miss Kelly "The Flying pinup". Judges were Nick from Sailor Jerry, Mark from RetroBomb Magazine, and myself representing Pinups of Australia . I can't tell you how close it was, all the pinups shined on  stage and really took their performances to the next level. Introduced by Lori Lee, the pageants embraced selected themes for the weekend of Greazefest, and saw different glamourous pinups take the stage each day with a winner and runner up.  But everyone was a winner and took home a thank you pack from the ...

Photo etiquette at car events/shows

It's no surprise that pinups love cars, to be honest who doesn't! Pinup goes hand-in-hand with car culture and you'll find most car shows and events support pinups by hosting pageants. Photo DTrain Photography Not every pinup has access to cars for photo shoots and not every photographer has contacts in the car culture. It's a great chance to get some photos with cars and pinups in the same place, and you'll be spoilt for choice! But, there's an unsaid etiquette that everyone (not just pinups) should follow when at events. Remember your dealing with someones pride and joy, a car they may have restored themselves over years, maybe passed on from their parents, a car they have saved for years to purchase, that costs tens, if not hundreds, of thousands of dollars.
